After joining the team as all new recruits do.. as a defenseman, Pils quickly got put up to the forward ranks. It had nothing to do with his offensive prowess, it was because he is a defensive liability.
His Buzzard duties increased in 2001 when Rich May passed the General Managers torch & duties to Pils. His goal is to build upon the tradition Rich created, and to keep the Buzzards crew together, enjoying a few laughs along the way.
In summer of 2004 Dan helped Heath Miller, Shaun Tourigny, Rich May, Rod May & Rod Pertson to build the Buzzards 35+ Alumni Team (The Vultures).
His interest in Web design spawned the creation of BUZZNET. He has never been called skinny.
Pils retired from the Buzzzards in 2015 after 18 seasons and joined the Vultures.
